Engineering Information Offering Open Training Sessions

.: Ei Engineering Information is offering open training sessions this month. The courses are taught by Ms Gali Halevi, Training Manager for Ei. I missed posting the first session, an intro to Engineering Village 2, held yesterday. Ms Halevi reported that many registrants participated in the May 2 sessions. The following two courses are forthcoming, and recommended for anyone interested in these Ei products and services:

  • May 9th: Ei Patents
    Times: 9:30AM, 2:00PM (EDT)
    Length: 45 minutes
    Content: This is an introductory overview of Ei patents databases. The training will cover:
    1. Patent searching on Engineering Village (unique features and search tips)
    2. Faceted searching and browsing
    3. Using patents searches for 'Technical Intelligence'.
    4. Combining bibliographic and patent searching
  • May 16th: Creating effective Competitive and Technical intelligence reports
    Times: 9:30AM, 2:00PM (EDT)
    Length: 45 minutes
    Content: This session will demonstrate how to create a competitive and technical intelligence reports on a given subject using Engineering Village 2 data sources including Compendex and Ei Patents. The session will cover:
    1. Learning how to identify major trends in industry and science by using data facets.
    2. Incorporating bibliographic information and freely accessed resources in your report.
    3. Keeping your report current by embedding alerts.
    This session will include a case study and a full example report that will be sent to all participants.
